ELIGIBILITY: Open to all Beginner or 9-Hole Division golfers between the ages of 7-14 (as of June 1, 2008). Participants are not required to be members of Atlanta Junior Golf.
AGE GROUPS: Players will compete in one of two co-ed divisions, the Yates Division (boys and girls ages 7-10) and the Jones Division (boys and girls ages 11-14). Ages are calculated as of June 1, 2008.
PRIZES: Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall finishers in each division (calculated by adding up place finish in each of four skills challenges, the player with the lowest total score wins). Also, a champion will be recognized from both divisions for each skills challenge station (driving, chipping, bunker, and putting).
ON-SITE CHECK IN: Volunteers will be stationed at the clubhouse to greet players and direct them to the First Tee Instruction Building at 11:00 am, where on-site check in will be set-up. Once players have checked in, they will be directed to the back of the range to gather for opening announcements at 11:30 am.
SKILL STATIONS: Driving (3 drives per player, with total distance of best two that land in “fairway” counting as score), Chipping (five chips per player, with total score of four best chips counting as score), Bunker (three bunker shots per player, with total of all shots counting as score), Putting (four putts per player, two from 5 feet and two from 15 feet; total strokes counts as score, with inches remaining after first putt at 15 footer during second roation serving as tie breaker).
EQUIPMENT: Players do not need equipment or prior experience in order to participate in this event. Clubs will be provided on-site courtesy of The First Tee at East Lake.
REFUNDS: NO REFUNDS will be available after registering for this event.
-The driving range WILL be open until 11:00 am
-Spectators ARE allowed to attend this event - please review the Atlanta Junior Golf Spectator Code of Conduct if you plan to attend. Any spectator who fails to abide by the Spectator Code of Conduct will be removed from the golf course and lose the right to spectate at future Atlanta Junior Golf events.
-Please note that the Atlanta Junior Golf Dress Code is in effect for all in attendance (including spectators!). No jeans, t-shirts, or short shorts are allowed. Anyone whose dress does not conform to the specifications of the Dress Code will not be allowed on the golf course.
